This London-wide ESF-funded scheme will help young people (16-19) who are ‘NEET’  (not in education, employment or training)  to find sustained employment in their chosen occupation. The five stage programme provides assessment, advice, guidance, mentoring  and training for up to 36weeks and is designed to complement the NLC Modern Apprentice Programme in providing career opportunities for young people.  Go to employability.
New apprenticeship frameworks will be available from NLC commencing in December 2011, providing an even greater opportunity for young people to enter the world of work whilst studying for an Apprenticeship at Level 2 or Advanced Apprenticeships at Level 3.  NLC apprentices are placed with organisations as a full time employee in a job role that will allow them to gain the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to achieve nationally recognised qualifications in their chosen career.  NLC’s unique delivery methods and award winning learning resources ensure that most of the training, development and assessment is carried out in the workplace or though distance learning, making it very relevant to the job role and avoiding the need for classroom sessions.  Apprenticeship opportunities include Business Administration, Health and Social Care, Warehousing and Logistics, Customer Service, Retail, and Team Leading.
